 The Shanty, a beach front cottage, is set in a secluded private bay on
Mahurangi Harbour at the waterfront of a 100 hectare farm
in the Northland/Auckland area.
High tide comes up to the sundeck, from where guests can watch fish jumping
by day and the moonlight shining a path on the water at night.
The sandy tidal beach is private, for guest use only.
It offers safe swimming for children, fishing and kayaking with equipment provided.

 The Shanty, is suitable for families, where parents can relax on the deck
and watch their children playing safely on the beach.
Bird life can be seen in the native bush on the 100 hectare farm,
with bush walks in the adjacent 160 ha bush reserve.
The cottage is fully self-catering, with Warkworth township 15 minutes' drive away.

Extra persons - self-catering NZ$50 per person
Minimum two-night stay on weekends.
Winter rates:
valid from the Weekend after Easter through to the Thursday before Labour weekend

Location:
From Orewa take SH1 north for 15 mins and turn right into Cowan Bay Road.
Travel 6 km unsealed road to Cowan Bay Farm at the end.
Veer left down to The Shanty.
From Warkworth take SH 1 south for 5 mins and turn left into Cowan Bay Road. |
