Pittaway’s Cottage, Romantic Self Contained Cottage, Arrowtown

We welcome you to Pittaway’s Cottage,
to enjoy a unique blend of historical ambience and superb comfort.
Built in 1875, the stone miner’s cottage has been tastefully refurbished.
It’s on Arrowtown’s famous tree-lined Buckingham Street,
just two minutes flat walk from boutique shops, cafes and award-winning restaurants.

 

The intimate sitting/TV room features plush leather,
old books and a wood burner fire.
The two bedrooms have crisp linen, and in the private bathroom
there’s a double spa bath plus a shower.
The mini-kitchen allows a choice of breakfast options - self-cater,
a continental basket, or a gentle stroll to Arrowtown’s cafes.

Inside, old photos and historic information are complemented
by the vivid colour of fabric artist Leslie Duggan’s paintings.
Outdoors, sit under a towering oak tree, or amongst roses
and wildflowers in the cottage garden.
The trees are as old as the cottage itself, which is classified
with the New Zealand Historic Places Trust.

Our apartment adjoins the Cottage, and we are here to help with local information,
baby-sit, or provision the cottage if required.

Laundry facilities, a barbeque and freezer are available for guest use.

We’re a semi-retired couple, who enjoy sharing our unique piece
 of Arrowtown history with visitors.

A well appointed separate studio unit on the same property is $110 a night.

Arrowtown is a two minute drive to Millbrook Golf Resort, Spa and Gymnasium, and ten minutes to the Gibbston Valley
and other globally celebrated vineyards.
It’s in the midst of an Art Trail featuring renowned artists, and is flanked by Coronet Peak,
The Remarkables and Cardrona Ski Areas.
Being a mere 15-minute drive from Queenstown International Airport and 20 minutes to Queenstown’s
pulsing nightlife and activities, Arrowtown is central to the best the region has to offer.
