Romantic Self Contained Exclusive Retreat

Ferry Man's Cottage offers a romantic, exclusive self contained lakeside retreat set in it's
own private 12 acre section which forms part of our 33 acre property Bird’s Ferry Lodge.

Located on the edge of a small Lake, 2 km from the highway and with only native Wekas, Pukekos
 and wild ducks as neighbours this is a most peaceful spot.

Ideally located, midway between the West Coast glaciers and Nelson/Picton,
 makes it the perfect spot to break your journey on the West Coast.

The solid timber cottage is finished to a very high standard and designed to take in the panoramic mountain and ocean views- with all the luxury touches in your own very private setting.

The accommodation comprises 2 spacious bedrooms,
1 Queen with 4 poster bed and the second room has a king twin double bed
 which can be split to become a twin.
There is an additional comfortable double sleep sofa in the lounge
. Extra beds and/or a cot can be provided for children if required.

The cottage has decks and outdoor furniture back and front,
meaning you can enjoy the sunshine at any time of the day -
especially those famous West Coast sunsets over the ocean.

By the front deck there is an OUTDOOR BATH with HOT RUNNING WATER
from where you can watch the sun go down in spectacular fashion.

 All cottage rooms have screened windows.
During Winter you will not be cold - very cosy in fact - the bedrooms have oil filled radiators
and electric blankets, the bathroom has underfloor heating and there is
a 'Metro' woodburner in the lounge which packs a punch!

There is a TV, DVD player (with DVDs) for those who would miss one and a cd player,
magazines and games.
Cell phone reception is usually good here.
Wifi Internet access is available in Ferry Man’s Cottage.

The modern fully tiled bathroom has a shower and a bath and is supplied with
 large towels and luxury toiletries, hairdryer and heater.
Under floor heating adds that luxury touch.
 The cottage has an ample supply of hot water.

A fully equipped kitchen includes microwave, oven, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.
A BBQ is also provided.
Your tariff includes a welcome pack of breakfast supplies to get you started - homemade bread and preserves,
bacon or local sausages, our own free range eggs, milk tea and coffee.

As of June 2007 Ferry Man's Cottage has 4 Qualmark Stars (Independently rated as 'Excellent")
and is the highest rated holiday home on the West Coast of the South Island.

Surrounded by beautiful scenery, the Lodge is 2km from the main road and accessed from State Highway 6 via our own private road. We are 15 minutes South from Westport and 30 minutes North from Punakaiki.
